James Ewan Tait
“This remarkable songwriter is producing some uniquely enjoyable music.”
– Pink Wafer
James Ewan Tait is an experimental crooner born of Sheffield's DIY music scene. Operating out of a custom, analogue studio alongside The Audacious Art Experiment, Opus, and various other independent DIY spaces, James is involved in writing, recording, producing, booking, and promoting his own and other's music. Together with his producer and a small collective of musicians, James is setting up an independent record label and booking agent called Pigeon Hands, upon which he released his debut EP, ‘Everything, Loads, All the Time, Forever’, last year.
Noted for his unmistakable croon, impressive vocal range, and deeply personal delivery, Tait utilises numerous guitar amplifiers and an array of modulating stereo delays and effects to construct ever-changing soundscapes around which he weaves his soulful, off-kilter guitar lines.
Tait is currently writing and recording his second EP, to be released early 2019, and plans to release demos of some new material and some live recordings this year, alongside developing the Pigeon Hands Label.
